To this date, Halloween nerds have watched 867+ scary movies. That includes horror, slashers, creep shows, documentaries and so on. It's not because we're creepy that we like to watch terrifying films all year long (although the cashier 10 years ago at Hot Topic did say that we were being a creep), we like the movies because they're interesting. They highlight all of the flaws and pitfalls of society in a hyperbolic, impossible way, which is a world that practical realists want to escape to. We've seen enough real life horrors that sometimes we just want to veg out and  pretend we're a brainless blonde on the verge of their demise at the hands of a slow-walking fiend. 

So what if we like Halloween because our black zip-up hoodie is finally back on style. So what if we can have heated debates with the employees at Spirit Halloween about the origin of werewolves in local Eastern European lore. So what if we live for those moments during spooky season where it's totally okay to be a complete oddball.
